CLEANSING YOUR MALAS, GEMSTONES, AND SPACE

Mala beads, gemstones and crystals are powerful tools of transmutation and need to be cleansed – their positive energy, intention, and vibration renewed!
There are several ways to cleanse your mala beads … here are a few of my favorites.

Palo Santo

Smoke often symbolizes the soul’s journey heavenward…

A mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America, Palo Santo is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal. It provides an uplifting scent that raises your vibration in preparation for meditation and allows for a deeper connection to the Source of all creation. It is also said that Palo Santo enhances creativity and brings good fortune to those who are open to its magic.

Ignite your stick and hold at about a 45-degree angle pointing the tip down toward the flame. Allow it to burn for about 30 seconds and then blow out. Move about your space – the rich smell will bring peace and clarity to the moment along with good feelings. When finished, place the stick in a fireproof bowl of metal, glass or clay.

palosanto-celenite

Selenite

A soft stone that clears our aura field from negativity and improves your energetic connection to your chakras and the Earth. This stone of Divine Light helps connect you to your higher self and spirit guides and brings deep peace
Cleansing and reactivate your mala gemstone energy by placing your mala directly on a piece of selenite for at least 6 hours.
Once cleansed and cleared, your gemstones are now ready to be imbued with your highest good  energy and intentions.

la-lune

Full Moon Bath

a personal favorite…
Work with the deeply restorative energy of the full moon to cleanse your mala gemstones and crystals. The process is sweet and I often take time to incorporate a full moon ceremony with this cleansing/recharging ritual.
Just before sunset, set out your malas in a safe spot, preferably on a natural surface  – this may be on a windowsill, or an elevated place away from curious animals.
As you set out your mala, name something that you would like to let go of – something you want to release to the transmutative powers of the full moon.
Directly after sunrise is the best time to bring them in.
*Many gemstones – smoky quartz, amethyst, citrine, aquamarine, flourite, rose quartz – will fade in direct sunlight, so I make sure to gather them up early.
Your gems are now ready to charge with intention!
Close out your ritual with prayers of thanks – to Mother Earth for the way she supports life, to your gems for all the work they do … and to all of the elements, acknowledging the way they work together to support our tools with their healing vibrations and for reminding to stay focused us what matters most in our hearts.

I will never be a morning person, for the moon and I are too much in love…

white-sage-cleansing

Sage

Smugding sage practiced by burning a bundle of dried sage and then directing the smoke onto the areas that you want to clear or protect. As the bundle is burning and the smoke spirals, wafts, and begins to fill a space, it is cleansing.
As you’re burning white sage, it’s important to express gratitude for the help of the plants spirit as well as to express your intention for why you’re burning sage in the first place. In this very simply way, the energy of white sage, brings cleansing, protection, and blessings into the space it’s burned in. The smoke attaches to negative energies, and as the smoke then begins to dissipate it transforms those negative energies into universal energy.  And so, your intention for cleansing, clearing and protection is fulfilled.

brass-singing-bowl

Sound and Vibration

The powerful effect sound has on us is undeniable. When we are feeling stressed or out of sorts, the gentle rhythm of a babbling brook or the dulcet tones of a singing bowl make it easier to drop back in to a place of calm.
Singing bowls – metal and crystal – are powerful tools for stimulating, moving, and clearing stagnant energy in a space.
Playing your bowl, move slowly through your space… allowing the tones to reverberate against all surfaces, walls, and nooks. Don’t forget corners and closets and other ‘hidden’ places stagnant energy may be residing.

Originating in Tibet, Tingshas – clearing bells – create a sacred high vibrational sound, purifying with their frequency.

words for a place washed clean from the past
meant to create space and inspiration for
peace
respect
kindness
growth

May your hands be cleansed, that they create beautiful things.
May your feet be cleansed, that they might take you where you most need to be.
May your heart be cleansed, that you might hear its messages clearly.
May your throat be cleansed, that you might speak rightly when words are needed.
May your eyes be cleansed, that you might see the signs and wonders of the world.
May these people and this space be washed clean by the smoke of these fragrant plants.
And may that same smoke carry our prayers, spiraling, to the heavens.

Creator, Great Mystery
Source of all knowing and comfort,
Cleanse this space of all negativity.
Open our pathways to peace and understanding.
Love and light fills each of us and our sacred space.
Our work here shall be beautiful and meaningful.
Banish all energies that would mean us harm.
Our eternal gratitude.

For all that has been, Thank you.
For all that is to come, Yes!

That is beautiful which is produced by the inner need . . . which springs from the soul.
